Pay.io has launched a non-custodial crypto payment gateway aimed at B2B iGaming operators, according to an announcement published on 24 September 2026. The product is delivered as a platform as a service and can also be reached through Hub88's HubMarket.

What happened

Pay.io announced the launch of its crypto gateway for iGaming businesses on 24 September. The company describes the platform as non-custodial, which means it does not hold customer funds. The service is supplied as Platform as a Service (PaaS), and it is meant to give operators one place to manage payment flows and cut the administrative effort of keeping transactions aligned.

Two of the platform's three core products are:

  • Payment Gateway: an instructional layer that converts business needs into secure blockchain payment commands.
  • Cashier UI: a ready-made payment interface that operators embed in their sites or apps through an iFrame. It covers deposits, withdrawals and a transaction history log.

Across the wider suite, Pay.io lists crypto deposits and withdrawals, plus transaction monitoring, reconciliation and reporting. Pay.io also provides APIs alongside the pre-built cashier to simplify integration.

HubMarket, the product ecosystem run by Hub88, also carries the gateway. Hub88 provides tools, analytics and operational services for iGaming operators, so its clients can reach the platform as one of the integrations on offer.

Pay.io Product Manager Luis Campos Yafar said payments have always been one of the most complicated parts of running an iGaming operation, and that crypto payments have not kept up with the industry's pace. Campos Yafar said the Merchant Console and Cashier UI handle the complexity of multi-chain, multi-wallet payments. Communications agency Square in the Air handled the launch.

Why it matters

Operators considering crypto cashiers should check where wallet control, transaction approval and reconciliation sit under a non-custodial set-up. With the provider not holding customer funds, those responsibilities are likely to rest more with the operator's own teams, which could affect staffing, internal controls and how payment records are kept.

Compliance and finance teams will need to check whether the monitoring and reporting features meet the requirements of the licences they hold. The announcement does not tie the product to any jurisdiction, so suitability will depend on each operator's markets and regulator.

The Hub88 route could matter for operators already on that ecosystem. Access through HubMarket is likely to make it easier to trial a crypto option alongside other integrations, though commercial terms and technical effort are not set out in the announcement.

For affiliates, the launch is one more sign that crypto deposit and withdrawal options are featuring more prominently in operator cashiers. Affiliates promoting operator brands may want to ask partners which payment methods are live and how they are presented, as an embedded cashier changes what the front-end payment experience looks like.

Pay.io is entering the market with a non-custodial pitch. Operators seeking an alternative to processors that take custody of funds now have another provider to assess, and its claims on ease of integration remain for operators to test in practice.
